RE: FW: FW: [GnomeMeeting-list] Wrong voice pitch

I compiled the 12/30/03 snapshot of gnomemeeting with the latest pwlib and
openh323. I also got the latest (1.0.0rc2) version of alsa. My Kontron
laptop still has a pitch problem. The person at the Kontron laptop sounds
too low to everyone else, and everyone else sounds too high to the person at
the Kontron.

I can get the same effect without gnomemeeting using arecord and alsaplayer.
If I record my voice using arecord on the Kontron and listen to the
recording using alsaplayer on another laptop, the voice is too low. (And my
voice is too high the other way around.)

Is it possible that I am not using the "native ALSA support" mentioned
below? I noticed that alsamixer has no effect on volume. I have to use the
standard Redhat linux volume control to change the volume. Is there a way
to tell if I am using the native ALSA support that will hopefully solve my
pitch problem?

If I was you, I would go on irc.gnome.org,#gnomemeeting to request help
on how to install CVS. CVS has native ALSA support, it should solve that
problem (your chipset doesn't support 8KHz recording).
