You are not using version 1.00, right?
The fact that it doesn't start at 1, 2, 3 is due to a former bug of
0.98.5.

The fact that you hear things louder and louder is because you register
your own echo and it is repeated. You should use a headset instead of
speakers.

Use a headset and you won't have the "repeats" effect.
