Re: [GnomeMeeting-list] difficulty upgrading to 0.98.5

Hello all,
Hi Stephen

While I had no difficulty at all upgrading my RH9 laptop from 0.96 to
0.98, I am having substantially more difficulty moving from 0.96 to
0.98.5 on another computer that I am trying to set up.

I am working on a fresh "Everything" installation of RH9, so I am
assuming that any package that I might need is already available
somewhere.
To upgrade the laptop, I simply ran "rpm -i..." on the openh323 and
pwlib packages and "rpm -U" on gm. When I try that now, though, I get
this:

# rpm -i pwlib-1.5.0-2.i386.rpm
warning: pwlib-1.5.0-2.i386.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID
897da07a
        file /usr/lib/libpt.so.1 from install of pwlib-1.5.0-2 conflicts
with file from package pwlib-1.4.7-4

# rpm -i openh323-1.12.0-2.i386.rpm
warning: openh323-1.12.0-2.i386.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID
897da07a
        file /usr/lib/libopenh323.so.1 from install of openh323-1.12.0-2
conflicts with file from package openh323-1.11.2-4

Try first 'rpm -e pwlib openh323 gnomemeeting' and then install the new packages with rpm -i

# rpm -U gnomemeeting-0.98.5-1.i386.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
        libopenh323.so.1.12.0 is needed by gnomemeeting-0.98.5-1
        libpt.so.1.5.0 is needed by gnomemeeting-0.98.5-1
        openh323 >= 1.12.0 is needed by gnomemeeting-0.98.5-1
        pwlib >= 1.5.0 is needed by gnomemeeting-0.98.5-1

I know enough to see that the gm upgrade failed because it did not have
the other two packages, but not much more than that.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong here?

I am also having problems opening the logitech 3000 pro that I am using,
even though it appears to be installed because camstream works
perfectly, and the configuration druid video test comes out OK. Still
the cam does not turn on when I open gm (0.96, still...) and I get no
local view. Any ideas?

Thank you in advance for any advice, Stephen Burke
