Perhaps not, but it was sufficient to let me run the
audio test, so it was at least an improvement.
As I've already said, the best solution would probably
be to put a mixer control on the test, and to allow
the user to abort the test at *any* time. (As compared
to having to endure it for at least 5 seconds, which
*isn't* fun if things are going badly.)
I understand that gnomemeeting-CVS has ALSA support.
However, I've only tested 0.98 and so can't comment on
how you've interfaced to the ALSA mixers here.
However, it strikes me that ALSA mixers differ from
sound card to sound card. Does the alsa-lib API allow
you to identify all of a card's "Capture" devices?
