Is the problem with /dev/dsp1 only ?
If so I think it is a problem with the ALSA USB audio module, don't load
it, but load the pure OSS kernel module named 'audio' for your webcam.

No, probably a problem of the drivers with your soundcard chipset.

Not soon, but there is a way to make it work in case 1, you just have to
give me more information about the modules used, and about the *exact*
error messages. Is the problem only with dsp1 or also with dsp?
