Hi,
 using the latest driver is a good idea

 cvs -z9 co nixj  from the openh323 cvs.

AS user:
cd nixj
autoconf
./configure
make

as root,
  make install

The /dev/phoneX files are all there.
The permissions on /dev/phoneX are all correct.

Now, you should be able to run Gnomemeeting as an ordinary user.

Running Gnomemeeting as root - surely, this a security problem?
