That's echo. You can remove the echo by using headphones. I'm
personnally simply using headphones from my CD reader.

Check that your bandwidth settings are correct. Perhaps you are using
too high settings for your bandwidth. Also check the statistics part in
GnomeMeeting to see if there are no lost packets.

Even with echo, the "jittered" effect should not appear.

You have to give more information about GnomeMeeting's configuration
(see above) so that we can help and also about your internet connection
(ppp? dsl?)
