Is it a new problem of CVS or did you already had that problem before?
Are you using devfs or not?
Are you sure the device was not busy?
Does it give the same result as root?

Without more info and debugging from you guys, it is impossible to debug
this. Nobody complained before you two that devices were not detected
for the audio part. If it is not related to another problem, that pwlib
bug has to be fixed.
