[GnomeMeeting-list] How to get rid of desktop icon

whenever i log in there is a desktop icon that says
Gnomemeeting /dev/v4I/video

I cant simply delete it bczof ownership problems.  As
much as I hate to use this annoying shell I have to
login as superuser and then delete the icon.  But to
my surprise the icon manages to recreate itself on
next login.

How do I get rid of it for good?
