No if it works for you.
In fact, most of OSS modules are not full-duplex.
All Alsa modules are full-duplex.
GM needs full-duplex :)
In fact, only a few OSS modules for newer card like SB Live are full duplex.
If it works, you have no benefit (except sometimes a better quality of the ALSA modules,
and implementation of amplification to register)
