ok, i did not have created manually the /dev/dsp1 device, after reboot it is
created automatically by the system.

thats what i do:

1. i deleted the rm .gnome/gnomemeeting file
2. start gnomemeeting (welcome message)
3. in the device setting the default is all set to /dev/dsp (both
player/recorder)
4. i change the recorder to /dev/dsp1 and mixer to /dev/mixer1

5. this is the message of the status window.

10:59:13 : Reinitializing the capabilities
10:59:13 : Added MS-GSM capability with 4 frames transmitted with each packet

10:59:14 : Set Audio player device to /dev/dsp
10:59:14 : Set Audio recorder device to /dev/dsp1

5 when i connect to a (local) netmeeting pc, i can only receive audio but the
sending does not work. the recording device works with other softwatre!

my impression is that gnomemeeting not really opens the device because during
a running netmeeting connection i could record a audio file from /dev/dsp1. i
think this should not work if the device is in use?

thanks for your help,

alex
