Re: [GnomeMeeting-list] Newbie UPDATE: slow video

Hi Damien,

I haven't tried GM to GM because I am unable to compile it. Says there is a
syntax error in one of the include files. You suggested a conflict in files
since there are multiple versions, but I'm not sure where to start deleting
stuff. So I've kinda put that on hold a bit and decided to test the NM -> NM
connection over the same LAN.

Hmm, I'm just full of the joys, aren't I?

For settings, I have tried the following:

Jitter Buffer Delay: 50
Small video window
NTSC
Transmitted quality: 1 2 10 15 20
Updated blocks: 1 5 25 99
Receive quality: 3

Transmitted quality of 20 seems to get about 3 fps on the NM receive side,
but the picture is highly colored with small RGB squares. Updated blocks of
99 resulted in the least blockiness, as far as I could tell. Picture on the
receive machine tends to just stop updating even though audio still comes
through.

As far as a log file, is there such a thing I could look at? I checked the
network card using ifconfig eth0 and there were no dropped frames, no
collisions, no apparent network problems at all. If anything I noted that
for just a few minutes of video, over 30MB of data was transmitted. Does
that sound correct?

Paul
