Ok, first off, I'd appreciate it if you would've CC'ed me on your note
since I was the original poster. I didn't even know you had replied
since all I get is the digest. So please bear with the cutting n
pasting (from the web archive since I haven't yet received the latest
digest) that I have to do now.
Secondly, Like I said in my first note, I get a bunch of failed
dependencies when attempting to install 0.9.6b. Here they are using the
--test switch:

This is when attempting to install 0.9.6b. I already have 0.9.6
installed. Still looking for specific suggestions. I think everyone
who is running RH7.1 will encounter this, no? Thanks!

You need to install both openssl096-0.9.6-6 and openssl-0.9.6b-8. The
first one is a backwards compatibility library. It contains
libcrypto.so.1.
