Uh... according to :
http://developer.gnome.org/doc/API/2.0/libgnome/libgnome-gnome-program.html#GNOME-PARAM-GOPTION-CONTEXT:CAPS
it is in gnome since 2.14... which is way more recent than what I 
thought! GOption itself exists since 2.6 :-/
