My opinion is to keep the current address book and use EDS as backend...
At least until there is an standalone addressbook in gnome.(See below)

(this is below) Even if there is a standalone addressbook I think it is
better to have specialised interfaces in the consumer apps. In any case,
if gnome follows a different route, we should do the same.
