[GnomeMeeting-devel-list] Video Device

Hey gnomemeeting's...

I am wanting to try to get gnomemeeting to work with the video
conferencing system that Fermilab uses. One feature that the video
conferencing rooms at Fermilab has is the ability to switch to different
cameras and computer inputs. I think that it would be great if there
was a video device such that it would send your entire screen or a
portion of the screen. So, you would have your normal video device
working and then you would say, here let me show you what I mean. You
would then switch to the desktop video device, where a black box would
overlay on the desktop relating the region that is being sent, and then
you would open the program you want to show. Like if you wanted to show
a plot you could fire up gnuplot and then drag it into the window.
Another possability is to take the entire screen and you could show a
presentation. That way the presentation would be sent across to the
meeting. I know that gnomemeeting is setup and a calling tool and not a
conferencing tool but I think this would be super cool. I applogize if
this has been suggested and or is already in the roadmap. I have been
unable to get onto the website today to see what is there. Anyway, what
do you all think?
