[GnomeMeeting-devel-list] GnomeMeeting 0.98 aka the "Buddha Matreya release" is available!

After several months of development and 1 week before its second
official release birthday, GnomeMeeting 0.98 is available.

Download GnomeMeeting 0.98 today at the usual location. This is a major
release with many changes and enhancements, and it should be the last
release before the 1.0 cycle is reached.

H.323 enhancements include:

* Call hold support: calls can be hold and retrieved later,
* Call transfer support: any running call to another user,
* New h323 URL support: (RFC3508), of course callto URLs are still
supported
* URL support in call forwarding (h323: and callto:) for incoming calls,
* Possibility to specify the UDP ports used when registering to
gatekeepers
* Improved disconnection messages at call end,
* Improved gatekeeper registration error messages
* Full IPv6 support (thanks to Sébastion Josset),
* Support for the GNU Gatekeeper NAT penetration technique permits users
to penetrate NAT as long as they register to a public and non-natted GNU
GK (thanks to Chih-Weih Huang)

General enhancements include:

* Redesigned addressbook with new menus and drag-and-drop, now also
supports special chars in group names
* Speed dials support: you can associate any number shortcut to callto:
and h323: URLs for your contacts (e.g.: if speed dial 1 is h323:foo.net,
dialing 1# will dial h323:foo.net)
* Improved ILS browser
* Improved ILS server, faster and more reliable (thanks to Paul)
* Experimental AVC and DC Firewire support (thanks to Georgi Georgiev
and Bob Mroczka)
* New calls history: given, unanswered and received calls are now listed
in the calls history, users can be called back or drag-and-dropped into
one of the addressbook's groups
* Improved preferences dialog with a better organization of the options
* Dialogs are now HIG compliant
* New option to automatically clear the text chat
* Debug output contains timestamps and gets logged
* Improved Full Screen support
* New smileys
* New icons (thanks to Jakub Steiner)
* Many internal code changes to prepare GnomeMeeting to 1.00

Quicknet enhancements:

* Possibility to start a call immediately after '#' is pressed,
* Possibility to hold a call with '*1' and to transfer it with '*2'

Fully updated translations:

* zh_TW by Chung-Yen Chang
* sv.po by Christian Rose
* nl.po by Huib Kleinhout
* it.po by Alessio Dessi
* fr.po by Fabrice Alphonso
* de.po by Stefan Brüns
* cs.po by Miloslav Trmac

I would also like to thank the translators, the packagers, the code
contributors (see above) and all people having hardly tested
GnomeMeeting in order to permit a high quality release (Kilian Krause,
Johnny Ström, Fabrice Alphonso, Matthias Redlich, Matt Marsh, Alexandre
Aractingi, ...). Sorry for those of you I forgot, I have tried to thank
for the biggest contributions, but I'm sure to have forgotten people...

Please report all bugs that you could encounter with this release, that
is the best way you can help improving the project.
