Hi all,
A few months ago I ported gnome-control-center to meson build
system[0]. within the "MesonPorting" initiative[1] that tries to port
packages under GNOME umbrella to meson.
As you may know, meson is a new build system which offers some
benefits over autotools, of which I would like to highlight: it's very
user friendly and usually faster.
gnome-control-center's meson port is a rather big due to the size of
gnome-control-center itself, which has also involved some
modifications to meson[2]. There is a bug opened in bugzilla[3] for
this, with some extra information, but it looks like it's at a
standstill.
I would like to know if including meson as build system could be
interesting for gnome-control-center.
If so, it would require an update and some extra testing, for which it
would be interesting to have someone else's assistance.
Please let me know any comment you may have.
Thanks!
