Hi,
I read carefully .desktop standard from freedesktop.org and, yes, it can
be done without too much effort, even multiple commands from web
browsers (new tab and new window URL opening). In the next days I will
start moving from XML applications list description to run time
applications discovering via .desktop files. Even updating mime type
should be easy, so Nautilus will use the same web browser to open html
documenents.
BTW, while I was looking at eel source code, for .desktop files end menu
items parsing, I made this [1] patch, just to understand better how that
code works.
Ciao,
Luca
