Julian,
I'm planning on doing a design for a new way to edit menus which
is compatible with the changes that George is making on the backend.
Hopefully then George will implement it. I will be posting the proposal
in a couple of weeks or so for feedback. As part of the design I
also had planned to support panel configuration in general - although no
one has signed up to do that for 2.0. I kind of look as menu configuration
as a subset of panel configuration?
Did James have a protoype or some screenshots?
