If you haven't seen yet, Clytie has written up a how-to for getting

Excellent! Thanks Clytie and Marcelo! :-)
:) Marcelo is _quick_! I hope he's on the Gnome translating team. :D
Mine is up:

I had to go into more detail, because many women in my community are
only just starting out with computers, if that, and may not know what
a mailing list was, let alone IRC. So I gave more instructions, and
also said they could contact me if they were having problems joining
either.
I did some pages in Vietnamese, before, for the D-W wiki, and I
received an email yesterday that is fairly typical: a lady who'd
found the pages by searching for something to help Vietnamese women.
She needed help setting up her browser to view our language. She
thought the whole of D-W _was_ those pages in our language, and was
very excited that someone cared enough to do that, and was (this is
hard to translate, more culturally than linguistically) important
enough to do it, that women helping other women had enough status to
appear online.
So we may get low-level entrants, but I'm happy to support them. Just
getting people online and functioning is such a big step in empowerment.
Hope you like the page. I think it looks dreadful, but that's more
moinmoin than my text, I hope. :)
Time to run a keen eye down the translation status pages for my
language. We're in string freeze, preparatory to release, and you
have to watch those developers _very_ carefully... :D (some of them
keep modified strings in their hip pockets, just waiting for a
translator to nod off so they can sneak them into the file. Hmm, I'm
starting to suffer from a highly-specialized type of paranoia here...)
