Have you tried any way to contact the relevant people described on the
web page you mentioned?

Anyway, I don't think linking to the program which Rhythmbox is inspired
by constitutes promoting non-free software. For me it is merely giving
credit where credit is due.
Maybe a link to Wikipedia will do an even better job. But I think it's a
detail left up to the maintainer of that web page.
