howto use FTP for a pdf

Hello, when gnome used CVS it was possible to download a file from
cvsweb, but now with SVN this is not possible.

Is it possible to use FTP to put an HTML file a PDF and some ZIPS?

i have only used the ftp for doing things like:

install-module mySoftware-version.tar.gz

but i see projects like dasher that have other files:

http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/dasher/
