I just read this message from the mail archive, I'm not subscribed.

While there are many reasons to consider for not using Squishdot/Zope,
what the above message seems to imply is quite inaccurate.  While
we've had problems at The Dot (aka dot.kde.org), Zope being unstable
or not being able to handle Slashdot'ing was not one of them.  Our
site architecture is not quite so simple though, so there are other
factors that you are not seeing.

PS Ironically I chose Squishdot/Zope because Gnotices was using it and
   I was unaware of any problems you were having.
