Gnome warning

I'm getting I/O errors when writing to DVD (device "hdc"). Is this
warning significant?

"x-special/device-block" (file is "hdc"), please tell the gnome-vfs
mailing list.
I'm running Gnome 2.16.1 with Ubuntu 6.10. Linux kernel is 2.6.17-11-386.
