Gnome Terminal devel question

Hi,

I don't know if this is the correct mailing list, but I have a question 
about gnome-terminal development. I just wanted to know what technique 
did they use to make sure that the username and host and cwd is always 
on the screen? For example, did they hook into the delete signal and 
override it, or was it more complex then that?
