gnome icon metacity gtk+ themes

Hello.

First immediately apologize for my English. I have long been a
gnome user in a variety of distributions. Finally I have a free time
and I decided to deal with one issue that has long concerned me. If my
letter is not to forward it to a conference where it is your place.

Actually, I was looking for software for creating theme icons,
metacity, gtk+. The matter is that that number would not have talked
about that enough, and the console and a simple text editor, all this
of course but so far not for all tasks. For example icons. To paint the
GIMP icons enough with it. To make a full and self-images without the
use of the theme "Inherits = Tango, gnome" need to process more than
1000 images.

Yes something like that as there are for example GNOME
Iconset Builder
http://developer.novell.com/wiki/index.php/GNOME_Iconset_Builder or
Gnome Icon Packaging utility
http://sourceforge.net/projects/iconpacker/ But this is only the first
sight. In fact, the GIB is not updated since 2004 and iconpacker is in
its infancy. Then there
http://live.gnome.org/GnomeArt/Tutorials/UsefulLinks such links are
outdated. Well, for example, Metacity Theme Editor
http://www.thos.me.uk/index.php?page=MetacityThemeEditor where is he?

What I wrote all this. Gnome is still developing. He uses a lot of
talented people. But not many of them there is free time for what would
look to the example in the format so metacity/gtk+. Yes the format
is very simple but nevertheless, the editor with a graphical interface
so metacity/gtk+ is simply not. Again his hands to collect the
subject of icons very seriously. And if there is application for
creating icons with an interface so at least something like "alacarte"
it has helped to improve the quality of the interface and simplify the
work with the themes.

Thanks for that read.
