Gnome Beautification in the Future

Before I forget I'd like to briefly summarise some improvments to gnome
that would benefit "beautification" in the future:

* Improving the theme chooser. Fix
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=102216 and look at ways of
making it easier to install themes from ago and elsewhere. Has been
talked about in the past on desktop-devel and more recently here..
We should concentrate on making it easier to use and less buggy in the
short term and integrate it with ago in the long term.

* Implementing an improved background chooser. XD2 has an improved one
implemented for the desktop and Luca has a design for one that could be
used for the desktop, panels and for nautilus. The design just needs to
be finished with discussion here and on usability@ and then it would
need to be implemented and added to libgnome or libegg. Ask Luca for
more details. Would be REALLY nice if this could land in cvs in early
2.5 to give it time to be debugged and integrated.

* An improved default gtk and window border theme. Luca is already
working on this but I think that we should aim for 2.6 on this one and
make sure we get it absolutely right. (Personally I think something like
Industrial would rock).
