Hi everyone,
It feels great to be a part of GSoC 2015 working on GNOME. I am Shivam
Mishra, a student of Information Technology at Indian Institute of
Information Technology, Allahabad, India. It's an absolute privilege
to be a part of GSoC and work on GNOME, the desktop environment I have
always loved some much. I have been using GNOME for about 4 years and
now its time to dive into its development.
My Blog Page: Under construction, will be available soon.
IRC Nick: shivam
A bit about the project I'll be doing this summer:
With the release of GNOME 3.16 there has been a major design change in
gnome-shell time&date drop-down and notification management. Out of
those changes Birthday & Event Reminders and weather information app
has not yet been implemented according to the new design. So I will be
implementing them in this project.
I will be working be Florian Mullner as my mentor.
I am really excited about this summer and looking forward to working
with you all.
Sorry, last time I forgot to change the subject.
Best Regards,
Shivam Mishra

Hi All,
I'm Udayan Tandon a student at IIIT-Delhi pursuing my bachelors degree in
computer science. My project is building a GUI for the coala application.
You can find more information about coala on our github page:
https://github.com/coala-analyzer/coala. I have been involved with coala
for over two months now and have been closely involved in the development
of coala. I plan to make a fully functioning GUI application for coala by
the end of GSoC.
Regards
Udayan Tandon

Hello out there,
I'm Bastian (bastianilso), been around for GNOME 2 years or so on the
Engagement team. This summer I'll be working on Polari[0] and I'm super
excited. Polari is used for IRC chat by many GNOME contributors and my
aim is to improve this chatting experience which many of us rely on.
My main areas of focus are:
- Initial Setup Experience
- Keyword notification
- Error handling
- Paste service support
Aside from that I'm hoping to squash some of those 87 bugs[1] currently
filed against Polari and hopefully contribute with bits to the
developer documentation along the way.

Hi everyone,
It's great to be accepted to this years's GSoC, and it's my honor to work
with all of you. I'd like to introduce my project and myself here:
Evolution configuration EExtension for Exchange ActiveSync
Short Description
The EPlugin for Evolution-ActiveSync is outdated now. I?m going to update
it with the current version of Evolution. Considering that EPlugin is
deprecated now, I need to rewrite this function in EExtension. After
communication with Mr. Woodhouse, some upgrades will be added after
renewing this tool. Activesyncd, the standalone daemon used in this project
to communicate with the server, is using GConf to store its configuration
now. Since GConf is deprecated, it will be replaced with GSettings and
dconf. Also, we will spawn an ?ssh-askpass? process silently when trying to
login in the remote server, but the more proper way to do this is to open a
prompt window asking user for their password. More features will be added
if the tasks listed above could be finished ahead of schedule.
I will be mentored by DavidWoodhouse.
Benefits this project will have for GNOME
As many users would like to configure their account using a GUI rather than
a bunch of command line operations, this work will help them setup things
easily. They can configure their Exchange ActiveSync accounts using
Evolution?s GUI guide just as other protocols like POP, IMAP, etc.
About Me
My name is Oliver Luo. I?m a student from Peking University and major in
computer science.

Thanks for your attention, and wish to make more friends as we can help
each other~
Yours Sincerely,
Oliver Luo

Hello everyone,
it's an absolute honor to be accepted to this year's Summer of Code.
Some words about my project and myself:
The project
The project I'll work on this Summer of Code is "Add Drive dialog".
While it seems like a simple work, it may actually involve many
components of the GNOME stack, mainly Nautilus and Gtk+ itself. The
majority of work will happpen with GtkPlacesSidebar widget, and
Nautilus.
With it, we'll get one step closer to the Nautilus Next dream. Also, by
the end of this Summer of Code, I'll take some time to improve Nautilus
by fixing bugs related to stability, functionality and user interface.
About me
I'm a bachelor student in Information Systems at University of S?o
Paulo. I'm a long-time GNOME user (since 2008), but just recently I
started contributing to mainstream, worked on Brazilian Portuguese
translations and revived GNOME Calendar project. My personal web page
is https://feaneron.wordpress.com/.
I'll give the best out of me, and I sincerely hope you guys enjoy my
work. Let's strive for making GNOME the ultimate desktop environment!
Best regards,
