To build Mozilla 0.9.8, I downloaded the latest Mozilla sources and
followed the instructions on "how to build your own Mozilla distribution
from sources (look at http://www.mozilla.org/build/distribution.html). I
then untarred the resulting archive into
/tmp/packages/build/opt/gnome/mozilla and made a Slackware package out
of it. To get the devel stuff, I had to package the include files and
libs from the source tree.
But now I wonder why Mozilla should be run as root first... If not, then
it segfaults whenever a normal user tries to start it.

That's what I did, however I saw them included with KDE that's where my
doubts originate.

Eventually I uninstalled the original mozilla package and compiled my
just
as I said.
I just don't get what rpms are you talking about? Why should I build
one?
