All 2 previous responses are good.

1st - See if you have the kernel includes installed.
2nd - I you have installed it and the compilation don't work, download 
another kernel (the last 2.4.X) and install the the includes like writed in 
the 1st response. In that case to, another way is to compile and install a 
new kernel 2.4.X (i think it is the best way but you need to know how to 
compile that kernel 'goodly').
