I have no idea about the problem yo are hunting, but there is a much
simpler way to undecorate maximized windows (if you want to undecorate
all of them at least): just use a theme which has no decoration for
maximized windows.
It is easy to change in the default theme, as explained in "method 2"

Having options for this kind of theme tricks would be insanely cool for IMHO.
