Hi, sorry if this is 100% redundant. I didn't find it in the list
archives or the WWW gnome.org docs.
I really like Gnome Shell (fc15), but one frustration is that it is
difficult to get new windows open from the keyboard. If I use the
special key, then type a few letters of the app name, then press
enter, I can quickly get any app open. This is great and I like the
flexibility (better ways?). The problem I have is that if the app is
already open I don't know any keyboard shortcut that will open a new
window instead of taking me to the already open window. Ctrl-Enter or
something would be nice...
Also, when getting apps by typing their names, would be nice if the
l/r arrows could also be used to navigate through the results, instead
of only u/d.
Best,
P

Sounds like gnome-do. As gnome-do obviously doesn't work correctly with
gnome shell, I recommend kupfer, a very good alternative.
@gnome developers: Please integrate the gnome-do/kupfer functionality
into the gnome shell.
