GLib-GIO-ERROR **: Settings schema 'org.gnome.desktop.interface' is not installed

Subject: GLib-GIO-ERROR **: Settings schema 'org.gnome.desktop.interface' is not installed

This error happens on startup of gnome-shell, followed by "aborting."

I tried a
jhbuild build -afc gsettings-desktop-schemas
followed by a jhbuild build

with the same results. Any ideas?
