Recent gnome-shell design mockups of the activitiies overview show a special "workspace" on thee top of the workspace sidebar to be eventually used for a "Finding and Reminding"-related functinonality (this is my interpretations from the mockup). Maybe there could be a special "workspace" for widgets too (something like Mac OS Lion Dashboard). Just an idea. :)

I love the development of the extensions that have been made possible with Gnome Shell and it has me wondering - is there a goal to allow for the development of widget style applications developed with a focus on _javascript_/HTML in a similar vein to things like Yahoo!'s Widgets or is that not a priority for gnome shell?
I apologise if this has been covered/done to death but it only came to my mind after seeing the recent Calculator app from the Elementary team and how great it would be to have something like this given that a start on centralising/auditing extensions on Gnome infrastructure has begun.
Regards,
Nick
