I can successfully call and use other Soup objects, for example the 
following executes successfully without error in the same source file:

let message = Soup.Message.new('GET', 
"https://www.google.com/accounts/ClientLogin?service=reader";);

I make the following declaration earlier:

const Soup = imports.gi.Soup;
