Indicator Applet is one of reasons I switched From Ubuntu to Arch
recently.

1. Qt/Tk/etc. menu would look out of place as context menu of Activities
sidebar.
2. It would be hard/impossible to insert GS items like "New window" "Add
to favorites" in alien context menu.
