GNOME Shell and Online Desktop

Hi,

Are there any ideas on incorporating ideas of the Online Desktop into
GNOME Shell? The online desktop projects seems to have stalled. No
more commits since last October.

However the goal of Online Desktop is a good one in my opinion

become the perfect window for online applications like GMail,
Photobucket, Facebook, EBay, Wikipedia, and countless others that user
and developer momentum is shifting towards"


For instance if we can make web applications (gmail, facebook etc) be
part of the applications menu (like mozilla prism) or display web
widgets (like igoogle) on your desktop would be very cool features for
GNOME 3.0
