[Gnome-print] Unicode support broken in gnome-print under Solaris v2.6

Hi all,

I cannot seem to convince gnome-print to behave properly when linked to
from other libraries.

While building Bonobo I get this:

gcc -g -O2 -Wall -Wunused -o .libs/std-moniker bonobo-moniker-file.o
bonobo-moniker-item.o bonobo-moniker-oaf.o bonobo-moniker-query.o
std-moniker.o ../bonobo/.libs/libbonobo.so -L/usr/local/lib
-L/usr/openwin/lib -loaf -lORBitCosNaming -lORBit -lIIOP -lORBitutil
-lgnomeprint -lgnomeui -lart_lgpl -lgdk_imlib -lSM -lICE -lgtk -lgdk
-lXext -lX11 -lgnome -lgnomesupport -lesd -lresolv -lposix4 -laudiofile
-lm -ldb -lgmodule -lglib -ldl -lgdk_pixbuf -ltiff -ljpeg -lpng -lxml
-lz -lsocket -lnsl -R/usr/local/lib -R/usr/openwin/lib
Undefined first referenced
 symbol in file
unicode_iconv_open /usr/local/lib/libgnomeprint.so
unicode_iconv /usr/local/lib/libgnomeprint.so
unicode_init /usr/local/lib/libgnomeprint.so
ld: fatal: Symbol referencing errors. No output written to
.libs/std-moniker
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

So - I have unicode libraries installed like so:

 [10:20am] root@dsnstar:/home/dsnstar3/dsngrle/gnome/gnome-print-0.22#
find /opt/local/ | grep unicode
/opt/local/bin/unicode-config
/opt/local/lib/libunicode.so.0
/opt/local/lib/libunicode.so.0.0.0
/opt/local/lib/libunicode.so
/opt/local/lib/libunicode.la
/opt/local/lib/libunicode.a
/opt/local/include/unicode.h

When gnome-print is compiled, the problem seems to be seen here:

./configure
[snip]
checking for gdk-pixbuf-config... /opt/local/bin/gdk-pixbuf-config
checking for GDK_PIXBUF - version >= 0.7.0... yes
Unknown library `unicode'

Does anyone know what "unicode" library gnome-print expects to see?

gnome-print is v0.22.

Regards,
Graham
