I'll hop in with a "me too" as well. I simply disable dimming, since
it seems to be riddled with bugs. That would be my solution. I've
never bothered to look at the source. But I've had nothing but issues
with it jumping to full brightness, lowest brightness, randomly
deciding it is going to change while I'm touching it...I eventually
decided my BIOS was doing a better job.
