From your comments I imagine it will be. > Well, if we can stop your TX from doing that initial "Hello, I'm here!" > wakeup when it is first plugged in, that might help. THere's no "primary pc" menu item in the hotsync options, but that doesn't seem to matter for the network connection, at least. I have successfully set up a buetooth connection to my computer! So now I can access google from my palm... as long as I'm next to my laptop... THis seems to me to indicate that the dund service is working properly. unfortunately I can't do the sync operation. Most of the time I get the message "unableto initiate Hotsync operation, because the port is in use by another application". Then I found references to the rfcomm command and tried this: # rfcomm listen 0 1 Can't bind RFCOMM socket: Address already in use I don't know much about bluetooth/rfcomm but I notice that there are bios switches that control bluetooth swerial port simulation on my laptop. not sure if I have to mess with those to fix this. by issuing various rfcomm "listen" commands I was able to avoid this error message and just generate the more familiar infinite hang and connection failure. haven't been able to replicate this behaviour, though. as usual, I'd appreciate any help you can give getting me out ofthe woods. and/or suggesting other/next steps. thanks, matt _____________________________________________ > gnome-pilot-list mailing list > gnome-pilot-list gnome org > http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-pilot-list
