The Zire 72 is not supported in the default gnome-pilot
distribution. Make sure you install gnome-pilot 2.0.12,
then edit the devices.xml file (/usr/share/gnome-pilot/devices.xml),
and add lines for the Zire 72:
<!-- Palm Tungsten Zire 72 -->
<device vendor_id="0830" product_id="0061" />
Ok, I've made it. And I use gnome-pilot-2.0.12-4.
Other than that, Silvio Moioli's instructions should get you
going. Let us know if you've problems.
It doesn't work. I set the device to /dev/ttyUSB1 and type to 'USB', but
when I sync, nothing appends.
When I plug the zire, I get this in the logs :

uhci_hcd and address 10
Mar 22 13:58:02 mirv kernel: visor 4-1:1.0: Handspring Visor / Palm OS

That's why I use ttyUSB1. I've tried also with ttyUSB0, but it's the same.
Thanks for your help,
Jerome
