palm connecting to random ttyUSB

hello list

i have manage make gnome-pilot/evolution to communicate happily and
successfully with my palm zire31.

the problem is that whe i connect/hotsync the pda, it sometimes uses
/dev/ttyUSB1 2 or 3, wich is a bit annoying.

any idea how to force it to use a given ttyUSB device instead of
choosing one at random ?
