Pilot syncing woes

Hi,
I'm running:
RH9, Evolution 1.4.1, and
gpilotd-Message: gnome-pilot 2.0.10 starting...
gpilotd-Message: compiled for pilot-link version 0.11.5
gpilotd-Message: compiled with [VFS] [USB] [IrDA] [Network]
Gnome gnome-pilot 2.0.10
and syncing is completely broken -- pilot loses communication after
syncing about 5 addresses and the process hangs.
Hoping someone can point me in the right direction to resolve this...
