I have tried and tried and cannot get the Handspring Visor usb synch or
any synch for that matter to work. I think that the USB is set up
correctly. I am running RH 7.3. I have the standard kernel. Here is a
list of the output from messages log file when I attempt to synch:
Jan 17 07:48:48 dhcppc1 kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1,
assigned device number 7
Jan 17 07:48:48 dhcppc1 kernel: usbserial.c: Handspring Visor converter
detectedJan 17 07:48:48 dhcppc1 kernel: visor.c: Handspring Visor:
Number of ports: 2
Jan 17 07:48:48 dhcppc1 kernel: visor.c: Handspring Visor: port 1, is
for Generic use and is bound to ttyUSB0
Jan 17 07:48:48 dhcppc1 kernel: visor.c: Handspring Visor: port 2, is
for HotSync use and is bound to ttyUSB1
Jan 17 07:48:48 dhcppc1 kernel: usbserial.c: Handspring Visor converter
now attached to ttyUSB0 (or usb/tts/0 for devfs)
Jan 17 07:48:48 dhcppc1 kernel: usbserial.c: Handspring Visor converter
now attached to ttyUSB1 (or usb/tts/1 for devfs)
Jan 17 07:48:51 dhcppc1 /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: Setup visor for USB
product 82d/100/100
Jan 17 07:48:53 dhcppc1 kernel: usb.c: USB disconnect on device 7
Jan 17 07:48:53 dhcppc1 kernel: usbserial.c: Handspring Visor converter
now disconnected from ttyUSB0
Jan 17 07:48:53 dhcppc1 kernel: usbserial.c: Handspring Visor converter
now disconnected from ttyUSB1
When I attempt to synch, the palm just says that the connection
between the handheld and the computer could not be established. Are
there any clues. I have been trying to get this working for a long
time. Thanks for your help.
