i hade removed any pilot-link*, gnome-pilot* and evolution*
packages/installs. what do you mean by "other things"? there were no
more dependency problems.

ok, recompiled pilot-link with "--prefix=/usr/local/" parameter.
appended the same parameter to gnome-pilot's configure after patching
and fixing.

still i get "pilot-link: .." and the error mentioned in my original
posting.

any further idea?
