We use pam console system to assign ownership of /dev/ttyUSB* (same
thing for sound, etc..)

Using pam console means: the first user to log physically on the system
gets console access and nobody else will get console rights until the
first user logs off (same in Redhat..)

If you have problem with devfs, report your problem to Mandrake..

Default Mandrake config is shipped with devfs enabled and we recommend
it..
