problem with gnomecal and handspring visor

I've been trying to sync my Handspring Visor, and the calendar does not
seem to sync at all.  I understand that it is a one-way sync, from the
palmos device to the calendar, but no data comes through.  When I do a
sync, the calendar application is started, but there is never any data.

I'm using the visor with a serial cradle, rather than the USB cradle.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
