sync failing all of a sudden...

I'm using gnome-pilot 0.1.52 from Helix's Gnome distribution and all of a
sudden sync'ing fails on the memo conduit.  The pilot times out and the
sync applet still shows the green hotsync icon without actually doing
anything.

How can I figure out what's happening?  Can I turn on debugging somehow?
The sync log window doesn't show diddly...
