I wonder if anyone could help me here. I've compiled gnome-pilot 0.1.48
and am running the latest stable Gnome compiled from source on Mandrake 6.1.
I've had almost no success getting anything to sync. I've tried a lot of
things, but here's the latest:
* remove gnome-pilot.d from .gnome
* Make sure gpilotd is not running
* Start gnomecc from the command line
* Click on pilot-link
I then get the setup screen, where I enter the serial port (ttyS0) and a
speed (57600). Next I hit Try, and get from pilot. I hit the sync button on
my cradle, but nothing happens. So I cancel and hit Pilot Link again. This
time the setup screen does not show up--it basically freezes and nothing
happens. Here's a summary of what goes to the terminal:

At one point when I was running gnome-pilot 0.1.46, I did get it to sync
(using the same settings as above), but as soon as I upgraded it stopped
working. Another curious thing I noticed when it did sync was when I went to
the various conduits, I had to press the hotsync button on my cradle each
time so the dialog would appear. Otherwise nothing would happen. I should
also say that tonight I did try starting gpilotd in one terminal, then
gnomecc in another, but the behavior was basically the same--in other words
it didn't work.
Could someone shed some light? Am I doing something wrong? Is there any
other diagnostic information I can provide?
Thanks,
Dan
